Hi.
I was diagnosed with a staph colonisation up my nose a couple of years back (I kept having green spots come up on my chest - sorry!). The docor treated me with antibiotics and a nose ointment and it cleared up. I had no more spots etc and had no more problems until recently I've had a couple of greenish spots again (not been seen by a dr). I am due to have my thyroid removed in a month and had my pre op appointment last week and when routinely screening for MRSA they have diagnosed me as having MRSA. They have given me a body wash and nose ointment to use 2 days before I have the surgery but I have nothing to use now.
So now I am officially terrified. I am on the internet trying to find information and am seeing scary stories about people dying and losing limbs etc and to be honest I am frightened that I am going to die. I have a 9 month old baby and I am worried that the MRSA will always be sat on my body trying to kill me at every chance and that when I have my neck cut open in a month the bug will take its chance and kill me :(
I am sorry for being dramatic but I feel like the doctors are making light of it all. Please could anyone give me some help. Am I going to die?
